Bombay Beach Biennale

I was invited by Randy Polumbo to exhibit at the Bombay Beach Biennale in 2022 and I have been exhibiting there ever since. I also got heavily involved with the community and became joint Executive Director of Bombay Beach Arts & Culture Center.

FISH SKELETON
I wanted to play with the reflections of the Salton Sea whilst highlighting it's plight as it recedes. Every year the locals have to move it further out to keep it in the water. Metal work by Jael Hofmann, lighting by Kevin Key

A SALTON BATTERY
The theme was White Gold, I painted a punching bag like it was a Duracell Battery. It was a play on the words. 'Assault and battery'.  It was hung inside of Shig's tower - but it got stolen at the end of the Biennale

THE ENERGIZING BUNNY PARADE
Also for the theme was White Gold, I invited the local High school, Calipatria's marching band to open the Biennale, wearing bunny ears and sunglasses.

Pyramids & Transformers

Picture
Copper and magnets plus the pyramidal shape are known for their regenerative qualities. Pyramids are available in sizes ranging from 10ft to 6 inches. They look great nested. Connected purely by magnetic attraction, they can be dismantled and reassembled making them easily portable.
A crystal can be hung in the center too.

Transformers can make a variety of shapes or be hung from the ceiling. Kits come with 36 magnetic copper rods (either 18 inches or 6 inches long) and 14 stainless steel balls.

NOSE CONE 'EGGS'
I found these abandoned in the desert. I brought them to Burning Man. They glowed in the dark and were lit by solar at night - they were a little haven from overwheming stimulus and the sun.
